A very enriching session on business communication in consulting and personal branding by Mr. Nikhil Kulkarni, NITIE alumni. In this session, Mr. Kulkarni enlightens us with his experience. 

 Mr. Kulkarni is the owner of a start-up tripdarwin.com which is a holiday planning website.

This website lets you decide the place, type of activities, and creates an itinerary in just minutes to get the extra mile on your holiday planning. He worked at KPMG for 10 years and later quit the job to give a shot to his entrepreneurial journey.

As per him in consulting 80% is your communication and from rest 20%, 15% is a relationship with the customer and only 5% is your research about the content.MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are must for a consulting job at least for the first few years. Powerpoint is the most important tool for proposal making, report making, and Executive briefing as many are interested in fewer data, and PowerPoint appeals more to the customer in terms of communication.

Branding will create a market or sense of marketing of your unique abilities & Qualities soon this brand marketing will bring you customers with specific tasks or jobs according to your ability and skills that have been persisting in the market place. 

For example, If you are good at cooking nobody is going to notice your talent until & unless you start branding it & promoting it. you got the USP then have to move to the second step that is to make people know about your USP then move to 3rd step your Goal whether it is a restaurant chain or Youtube cooking show channel. Make ensure that your product/services/Ideas are reaching to correct audience.

Nikhil Also told the best channel through which one can start his/her brand building is social media especially Youtube. after youtube blogging is the second most effective way of your brand building as many people visit blogs to find solutions to their problem & the right solution blog hitting the right audience will give a platform to start something new.
